The 9th Sakura Award 2022

The "Sakura Award" is an international wine competition judged by women active in the Japanese wine industry.
Through a rigorous judging process by a total of 430 female judges (280 in Tokyo and 150 in Osaka), the 9th "Sakura Awards 2022" received 4,652 entries from 25 countries worldwide. From the Romanian and Moldovan wineries that we represent, 12 items were entered, and 9 of them received a total of 11 awards including Diamond, Grand Prix, Double Gold, Gold, and Silver!

The award ceremony for the "9th Sakura Awards 2022," which has become Asia's largest wine judging event, was held on May 30th at Meguro Gajoen, Tokyo.


"CuveeIX 2014" from Lacerta Winery in Romania won the highest categories of "Diamond" and "Double Gold"!! Moreover, it was selected in category B for retail prices ranging from 4001 to 6000 yen, recognizing the quality of Lacerta Winery's wines at Asia's largest wine event.
Furthermore, the indigenous variety "Viorica" from CARPE DIEM in the Republic of Moldova won "Grand Prix" and "Double Gold"!!
Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Romania, Dranga, and Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Moldova, Socolan, also attended the award ceremony.
