Moldova's largest winery
Cricova is the largest winery in the Republic of Moldova. Founded in 1952 as a state-owned enterprise, Cricova is characterized by its long-standing and consistently delicious wines. It was the first company in the country to start producing sparkling wine using the traditional method, thus establishing the history of sparkling wine in Moldova. Underground, there is an astonishingly long cellar, 120km in total length, so long that it's known as a giant labyrinth. Even the astronaut Gagarin is said to have visited here.
A jumbo tours exclusive.
They also offer a red sparkling wine, a rare 100% Cabernet Sauvignon fermented a second time in the bottle, and sparkling wines made from indigenous varieties like Fetească Neagră. While a few companies in Japan other than Jumbo Tours handle Cricova wines, the exceptional "Grand Vintage Brut 2009," which has undergone secondary fermentation in the bottle for over 8 years, is exclusively available through Jumbo Tours. Please enjoy.
