CRICOVA
Cricova is the largest winery in the Republic of Moldova. Founded in 1952 as a state-owned enterprise, Cricova is characterized by its historical and consistently delicious wines. Cricova was the first in the country to start producing sparkling wine using the traditional method, building the history of sparkling wine in Moldova.
Underground, there is an astonishingly long cellar, 120km in total length, so vast it's called a giant labyrinth. Even astronaut Gagarin is said to have visited here.
Cricova also produces red sparkling wine made with 100% Cabernet Sauvignon, a rare find globally, using secondary fermentation in the bottle, and sparkling wines made with indigenous varieties like Fetească Neagră. While several companies in Japan besides Jumbo Tours handle Cricova wines, exquisite items like the "Grand Vintage Brut 2009," which undergoes secondary fermentation in the bottle for over 8 years, are exclusively handled by Jumbo Tours. Please enjoy them.
