Fautor Winery's flagship red wine, "Negre," has been recognized as the best red wine in the world. The award was presented at the Concours Mondial de Bruxelles, one of the most prestigious international wine competitions, during its "Red & White" session in 2022. Fautor Winery's "Fautor Negre 2017" achieved the highest score among approximately 5,000 red wines submitted from around the world.
This red wine, a blend of the indigenous Feteasca Neagră and Rara Neagră grape varieties, represents the "Valul lui Traian" Protected Geographical Indication (PGI) region, located in southern Moldova. This region lies at the same latitude as France's renowned Bordeaux region.
The quality of the family-owned Fautor Winery has been consistently demonstrated since 2017 by numerous medals and awards in international competitions, earning it the national title of "the most awarded winery in Moldova." Starting as a family business at the end of the 20th century, Fautor has built a unique wine portfolio from rare grape varieties through dedication, passion, and innovation.
