Carpe Diem

For four generations, the Luca family has been dedicated to crafting impressive wines that reflect the Moldovan terroir and local winemaking traditions to the fullest. However, the first winemakers of the Luca family endured many obstacles in their lives to realize their dream of a private winery, a dream that continues to this day.

In 1949, under the Soviet regime which prohibited all private property, the Luca family's vineyards, along with their other assets, were nationalized, and the entire family was forcibly deported to a labor camp in Siberia. After harsh forced labor, some members of the family were able to return to their original profession of winemaking. The Luca family worked in state-owned wineries, utilizing their skills and knowledge.

After the collapse of the Soviet Union, two younger generations began to rebuild the family estate, intensively studying oenology for four years at a German university, and in 2011, they unveiled their first Carpe Diem wines.
Currently, Ion Luca Jr. serves as the winemaker and estate manager, overseeing the entire cycle of the family business.

Total area of 10.5 hectares with international varieties (Feteasca Neagra, Rara Neagra, Cabernet Sauvignon, Pinot Noir, Feteasca Alba, Feteasca Regala, Chardonnay, and others).
